    Bar Chart: RAG rating values

    bar chart.jpg

I am a novice.... so apologies to start with!

I need to produce a Bar Chart which is coloured in accordance with R-A -G values. For example:

Place name...... Oct scored 45 - which would show a RED column
Nov scoreed 99 - which would show a GREEN Column
Dec scored 79 - which would show an AMBER column

The bar chart will consist of 13 place names.

    Hope this make sense

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Compared to the chart you already have,

What do you want to change, then? I'm not seeing what's "wrong" with it.

Probably a Clustered and stacked chart looking at it, where it's pushed through a chart-building table that pushes from the table to three different columns that stack up red-yellow-green but zero out the two "wrong" columns.

On the whole, it's a pretty mediocre chart; it's trying to represent 3-variable data in a 2D plane, which always requires compromise, and it looks like it's not doing a great job of stacking the location/date onto the x-axis.

Depending on what you're doing, you might be better served with just a table that's date on one axis and location on the other, and fill with the scores; then you can use conditional formatting to make it a Heat Map.
