Compare two spread sheet?

So I have data all in one columns. I'd moved and sort it now with multiple columns. I'm missing one along the way moving it around. I can do it over but very time consuming.
What's the best way to compare the original and the newly sorted? Would I need macro for this?

Hi,

Difficult to comment with certainty what is the best way to identify the missing data if we can't see the workbook and the before and after situation.
In addition it may be just as quick to write a macro to perform the basic task of moving and sorting the original data rather than trying to unravel and identify the missing stuff.

If you're able to explain what steps you need to take with your original data and show an example of what you want to end up wtih maybe we can offer a macro solution.
