Change From Number to Currency Using If Statement

Hi

I've got a drop down of "A" and "B" in cell C1

Column A1 = 100 and A2 = £200

In Square D1 i use

If C1 = A then A1
If C1 = B then A2

However you'll notice whatever the formatting is in D1 is what it's displayed as, so eiter 100,200 or £100,£200

Is there anyway to change this using the if statement or another way?

You can use Conditional formatting for this. Apply the following Conditional Formatting formula to cell D1:

Then set format to Currency. When C1 = B the A2 value will show as the chosen format.

Not going to lie i'm having a mare here, i can't work out where to paste the formula.

Do i go to conditional formatting and click new rule?

I am using Office Professional Plus 2013.

Hi
Select the cell or range you wish to apply the CF. Then on the Home tab > Conditional Formatting select 'New Rule' and > 'Use a formula to determine which cells to format'. In the dialogue box that appears type in the formula and set the format. I'm using 2010 so I hope the dialogue is similar in 2013.
