Publishing Excel 2010 workbook as an Interactive web page

With Excel 2007 I seem to remember that it was trivial to save a workbook as an interactive web page - unfortunately I no longer have 2007 and am on 2010.

This still allows a static web page to be published but the ability to make it interactive has disappeared - at least I can't find the little check box that used to switch this on.

I've also tried using Excel 2013 from the on-line MS Office area to no avail.

    Does anyone know how?

Richard - I have 2016, and I don't know how closely it compares to the online 2013 version, but if I go to Export and Save as Other File Type I can choose HTML format. The tools seem to allow me to save a read/write copy. Is that option not there for you?

    Hello Ali,

    Thanks for the interest.

Yes indeed that functionality is still there for 2010 and indeed 2013, however what is missing is the all important check box on (I think) the pop up Publish window which says, or said, something along the lines of 'Add Interactivity'.

All you can do currently is publish a static web page. Before with the interactivity parameter ticked, when the browser opened the Excel .htm file you could do a lot of the stuff that you can do in the Excel App itself. i.e. Sort, filter, pick from drop downs etc.

That's the functionality I'm looking for but all evidence I've see so far when googling the subject suggests that this was dropped post 2007 - why I have no idea and I find it hard to believe we no longer have such a useful piece of functionality.
