    Simple Chart with some data.

    Hi,

I have a little presentation to do on a simple bit of data! i am just asking for a bit of advice on best way to set my chart?

Attached is the way i have it set now! B1 -Times (minutes) how long it was taking. C1 - Times (minutes) How long its taking now with the improve process in place! The two averages at the bottom.

Any advice on this please? i would like to show the benefit with saving on time we are now having, compared with B1 list.

    Regards Lee

Re: Simple Chart with some data.

What do each of the rows (2 to 7) represent?
Are you only looking to show the averages or would there be benefit in breaking it down into what these rows show too?

Very little information here to provide any useful suggestions.

Re: Simple Chart with some data.

    Hi BSB,

Rows 2-7 are how long each task has taken to complete, B2 through to B7 are the cycle times Before the improvements were made (6 individual tasks of the same thing! for example completing the same jigsaw) & C2 through to C7 was after the improvements were made to speed up the process!

I think i just want to take the average as i'm not sure if breaking it down will help. i am new to all this, finding it hard to explain myself. If anyone has any suggestions then that would be great.

Sorry if it don't make sense.

    Regards Lee .

I would ask this question -- what is wrong with the column chart that you have? This column chart seems to do a good job of showing the improvement between "1" and "2". What more do you want your chart to do?

Very good question Mr Shorty, Maybe i will just add in a column with the differences between the 2 times to show how much the saving is.

I would show the difference in numbers as opposed to an item on the chart.
So perhaps a percentage change or numeric change etc.
