    Using Formatting Palette, I think ? to set a whole column to 'Numbers'.

    How to format a column or several columns to 'Numbers'? Before entering data, I presume? v12.0 Mac.

    If you need to format cells to numbers (with x-decimal places?), highlight the range, then on the Home tab, in Number, click the down arrow and select Number
