Candlestick diagram showing only affected days

    Hi there!

I want to make a candlestick diagram, but I'm not using it for stock prices. I'm using it for checking variance in earnings. But the earnings are updated very un-frequently, and not in a specific pattern. So I want a candlestick diagram that only shows the monitored days, and not every day of the month (nor etc. every fifth...)

    Is this possible to achieve?

Note: check the attached file for more info.

    Thank you in advance!

    This might be instructive: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/ChartsH...artTricks.html
At one point, he says that some people don't like a date axis, so he suggests simply formatting the horizontal axis to be a category axis. Your example did not include any of your past attempts at charting this, but you might try that. Create a candlestick diagram like you had tried before, then switch the axis from Date to Text/Category.

To my untrained eye, Candlestick diagrams just look like box and whisker diagrams. If you decide to create the diagram from scratch, you might try the "stacked column" chart formatted to be a box and whisker diagram: http://peltiertech.com/excel-box-and...ams-box-plots/

It can be done with a pivot graph.

    See the attached file.
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

    Thank you again!

Is it possible to make a candlestick diagram and not a histogram, using the pivot graph?

Sorry, I should have added the diagram. I did get a pro tip on how to solve it, so it is ok now, but I have attached the file (with the candlestick diagram) just for information.

    Thank you again!
