Hi everyone. I seem to have problems with formatting my spreadsheets. I'm not sure of the best way to structure the data.
Does anyone have a good book or website he (or she) can recommend which addresses this?

CHANDOO.org has a great website and classes that I would recommend.
As for general data structure you want it to be normalized with everything captured in a row so you can easily pivot or run simple logic off of it.

Really the best thing is to get a mentor and learn from them. They have made mistakes and likely have best practices to share.
I would check amazon for Excel books as well.
I found this book particularly helpful when really learning how to be a poweruser of excel (but it wont necessarily help with data structure).

Thank you so much! I have seen that book before but didn't get it, but I just ordered it now.
Thanks for the info. I'm checking it all out now.
I went through the book in downtime at work, literally doing every example (as I learn by example and with my hands, NOT just from reading a book).
It only takes a few minutes each problem and the book comes with a CD that also has the answers so you can check your work.
I thought it was a simple to use book that provided a very easy to follow format.
I plan on doing the same. I was poring over that chandoo.org site and came across some good info.
Once I get the book I'm going to go through all the examples as well. Thank you once again for the info.
Yeah I used to teach EXCEL stuff at prior jobs and I always recommended that book (or whatever year was current).
Also feel free to check out EXCELISFUN on youtube. He is great and has clear examples.
