I use conditional formatting a lot but I have not been able to figure out how to make a row copy the formatting from the first cell in the same row (and then extend that to all rows)

In your conditional formatting formula you need to make the column absolute by adding the $ before the column identifier, e.g $A1
Then you need to change your "Applies To" range to include all columns to affect.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Ahhh Let me attempt that. I feel stupid lol.
I guess I have never done this before. When I add $ in the column identifier it just reverts back? Sorry for my "newbishness"
I got it using a cell value but not sure how to match the formatting.

As an example use Conditional Formatting formula rules:Formula:Please Login or Register to view this content.both applied to =$A$1:$D$2 Notice all cells in both rows will have the same fill, font style and font color when the letters are interchanged.Formula:Please Login or Register to view this content.
If this doesn't do what you want it would probably be best to upload a sample spreadsheet that has been manually formatted in accordance with what you'd like CF to do.
