Hello. Grouping in pivot tables is fairly easy. However, grouping in powerpivot tables is much more tedious. You actually have to create the grouping table and then link. Is there any around this?

... wouldn't that be very handy when working with dates. Unfortunately, it seems "Grouping" is not supported in PowerPivot (not in Excel 2010 for sure). So, just as you mentioned, the approach to create a separate table and then define relationship/links with the data table seems to be the way.
Let's see if other forum members advice of any other interesting ways to achieve this.
Oh well. Seems like powerpivot not so popular yet.
