SUMIF a month name based on a column of dates

In the attached, I need a formula on the Protein Overview worksheet in D3. I need to sum column C on the Protein Data worksheet if Column B on Protein Data equals A3 on Protein Overview and if the date in column A on Protein Data falls in the month seen in I3 on Protein Overview.

Not sure I'm completely following as what is to sum? Everything is in the month of June and all values in column A are singular, no duplicates.

Can you update your attachment in D3 with some results?

Immediately I'm thinking a pivot table, but just not sure what you are trying to achieve.

Re: SUMIF a month name based on a column of dates

In the cell where I mentioned I need a formula, I need to sum the total amount of chicken in the month of June. I will have daily data go into the protein data tab I mentioned and will accumulate a years worth of data. I want to look at the month I have referenced when I have all this data. Doesn't matter how much data I currently have at the moment as I need a formula to calculate what I need without a pivot table.

How about in D3 copied down...

    =SUMPRODUCT(--(A3='Protein Data'!$B$2:$B$35),--($I$2=TEXT('Protein Data'!$A$2:$A$35,"mmmm")),'Protein Data'!$C$2:$C$35)

Stretch the range as far as you need...
