I'm looking for some help with a spreadsheet built to calculate time.

I built the spreadsheet for someone else and it works fine for me but not for them.

First, I am far from expert at Excel. With some help from some books I have as well as this and other forums though, I was able to get it to do what is needed.

Criteria:
1. Table with rows for people and columns for dates.
2. Enter time as 4 digits without a colon, i.e. 0100 or 2000, to yield number of hours in a shift. This was done with two cells and a formula that yielded the difference to give total hours.
3. Sum the total hours for rows and columns as a digital number, i.e. 5.0 or 18.5.
4. Then add the totals of each row and column in the bottom right to give total hours for the week and total hours for personnel (it should match of course).
5. I used some hidden cells for formulas that got the desired results.

The spreadsheet was built in Excel 2013. It was emailed to the other party and he tried to use it in Excel 365. When he opens it, the sheet will not even accept input in the hour blocks.

I thought it might be a compatibility issue between 2013 and 365 but after some research, they seem (appear?) to be exactly the same, just owned vs. subscribed.

He was going to upgrade to Office 2016 to try to deal with that. I did the same hoping that might fix this. When I did so, I installed the 32-bit version (If I remember correctly, I previously had the 64-bit version) after reading that there could be some compatibility issues between 32 and 64 bit versions. I figured if that was the problem it would show up when I opened my file, created in 64 bit Excel, with the 32 bit Excel. It works fine so that does not appear to be the issue.

In case it helps, the "Account" pane under the menu still shows Office 2013, not 2016. Not sure why. What I read indicated the Microsoft store would install Office 2016 as an upgrade when I used the "Install" feature.

That's all the information that I think might be useful.

I figure most here are far more knowledgeable on these subjects than I am. Any help? I'm completely out of ideas.

Thanks.
