    opening dat .file ?? in excel 2016 request help

    Any one knows how to open a dat file in excel 2016 .

    It contains data but unable to have it opened properly.

    Kindly advise me the steps

    A .dat file could be created by any type of program, there's no standard for a .dat file.
    You need to know what program created it in the first place.

    Alternatively, load it into an editor have a look at it and ensure it's completely ASCII readable.
    Import it into Excel as you seem to be doing, but from the looks of things you're going to be doing some editing to make things line up as you want.
