Help creating automatic invoice number generator

Hello there. I have been trying and failing to create this spreadsheet for use with my home business. If anyone can assist I would be forever grateful.

Aim -

Excel spreadsheet that has a 'click to generate invoice number' button.
Once pressed, an invoice number from the second worksheet will be displayed.
The user then enters details in labelled boxes, clicks the 'Click to save' button, then this information automatically entered back into the second worksheet. I've included a picture of how I want this to look.

Is it possible to achieve this, and if so, will I be able to lock it to one person at a time using it because I have 3 staff.

Welcome to the forum.

If it was me, I would instead of creating a front end for a user to "make it easier" for the employees, I would create a datatable so they can enter the next invoice in the next row of data.



Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Thank you for the advice.

I have thought of doing that way, however, it leaves it open to abuse and human error - i.e. accidentally deleting data. Also this way it looks clean.

I have attached a before and after sheet. The before is just before a user presses 'generate' button, after is after ' save' has been pressed.

So the same thing can happen if they accidentally hit OK and send garbage data to the background only the user now wont know.

Either way the attached will do what you are asking for.
