Using the Sort/Filter function in different, unconnected areas of a spreadsheet

    Hello,

I'm new to the forum and asking my first Excel question. I'm trying to create a sorting filter for multiple columns in one area of a spreadsheet and then trying to create a sorting different filter in an unconnected area of the same spreadsheet. When I attempt this I get an error message that says,"The command you chose cannot be performed with multiple sections. Select a single range and click the command again." Is there a way to have different filters in the same sheet?

I have attached the file to provide a clearer example of what I am trying to accomplish.

Thank you for any advice you can give.

Have you tried converting those ranges to Tables?

I have not tried that. Am I able to use the data I already have in place? I do apologize I am a novice with Excel.

    Thank you

I was able to do it in place. The offsets in the headers might be a challenge for defining the ranges ... a lot of trial and error. Thankfully there is always the Undo button if you don't like what you see.

And oh BTW welcome to the forum.
