Average Time

Hi all,
I am trying to keep a file for my efforts at running. But I can't seem to get the time to average correctly, I have the cells in m.ss and then average but it doesn't want to play

Without seeing your formulas, I can't see where you are getting the 12:31 on the total line for the last column.

If I add them up and divide by 9, or use the AVERAGE() formula I get 5:53.

Please note that when you are trying to add time you need to customize your time format as [m]:ss instead of m:ss.
This will cause the minutes to be totaled without converting to hours and minutes.

Try this! It might make it easier to do your sums.

Hi David thanks for the response, for some reason I can't upload the file as an attachment. I have input under time as [m]:ss. Distance is input as a general number. and average time is =AVERAGE(D2:D11) format cell [m]:ss

Found it, thanks, there was a hidden 1 hour bringing up average, new average 5:51, I'll take that
