    Substraction two columns

    Hi,
    I tried to solve this but I'm getting VALUE message,
    I need to substract the sum of a column from another one, but
    a summation of a column that I substract from is not always greater than previous one so that's problem..
    I managed to get one result once but it didn't work for next cells, I tried with IF, ABS, and SUMPRODUCT.

    This is stupid but if it is possible to compensate in right way and substract then..

    I'm going to attach the file, it should be done in the 52th row..

    You should get these results: 35-47-44-41-55-52

    Re: Substraction two columns

    If the goal is to subtract the sum of C from B and list the result in C52:

    =ABS(SUM(B2:B51)-SUM(C2:C51)) (this equals your goal of 35)

    Copied to the right many of the results match your goals, some do not.

    Right, the formula I gave does that. Enter it in C52, then copy that cell to the right.

    Yes but not always, I'm going to explain the table again..

    "A" column are referrals, they click every day, not every referral. Sometimes I need to replace one of them with new one, and that new one starts from zero, so that day the column has less click than the previous one. Now, I'm looking for formula to subtract summations so I could see how many clicks they made.

    Hope you have closer picture of this..

    Perhaps Try

    B52=IF(SUM(B2:B51)-SUM(C2:C51)<0,ABS(SUM(B2:B51)-SUM(C2:C51)),SUM(B2:B51)-SUM(C2:C51)+A52)
