Deleting duplicates to only get the highest value

Hi,

I'm new at excel so macros and formulas are all new to me. I have 2,888 codes with different rates, in which some codes are duplicates. I need to have a single code with the highest value. Colum A has the codes and colum D has the rates. Please help I prefer formulas but if the macro is easier I don't mind using it.

This is what I did.

I made a table with 10 Codes (you have more) and that 10 codes are repeating many times in the first column.
in Second column (Rate) each code is given different rates.

I made this is a TABLE. it is easy to dealt with.

Then I inserted a pivot table. I drag code (from field list) to rows, and rates to values.
from value field settings I chose max to display. Capture.PNG
