PDF to Excel Conversion

Depending on the PDF, converters may not always work. Part of my job for many years involved converting PDF invoices to an excel format for specific data extraction, and I ran into this problem with converters a lot. Sometimes they worked, and sometimes they didn't. My only consistently valid solution was to write my own conversion system that was specific to the particular invoices; i.e. company specific. This was done with a combination of managing copy/paste functions and text manipulation formulas that split up incoming strings into their various parts, often based on the existence of specific characters, string lengths before spaces, and other consistencies within the PDF layout of each company, and VBA code that placed the split results into cells where I wanted them. I never had a PDF I couldn't convert this way, but it can be A LOT of work to get it set up right. So, it's really only worth it if you have to do it a lot, and if the converters do work, then definitely go that route... Good luck!
