Selecting a cell in a range and alternately turn on/off an "X"

I have a range of cells on a sales order sheet highlighted in green which I would like to pick one of in this case 6. I would like to pick a cell, have it place an "X" and then have it go off if I pick an alternate cell within that range. I would like to use something like this rather than a drop down window so that all choices and data are available to see on the price sheet.
