How to edit the contents of an array formula?

So, I was forced to use an array formula to get multiple results on matches, and the formula works.

The problem is, when I try to edit the data the formula is using, it basically breaks. Do I need to do something special to edit the data, much like pressing Ctrl+Shift+Enter to enter the formula in the first place?

It's probably something really simple, but I am new to array formulas. They seem to eat space quite quickly also.

Once you have amended the formula, you must use Ctrl-Shift-Enter again to re-commit it as an array formula.

    Hope this helps.

Oh, I am talking about changing the contents the formula itself is using to calculate, not the formula itself.

Say for example it is referring to column A. When I change the contents of column A, it breaks it.

    Hello,

can you post the formula you are using? Also, please describe what is in column A when the formula works and what changes you make in column A.

    Sorry, I misunderstood.

What does "breaks it" mean? Are your getting an error in the result?

That does not clarify what you are changing in column A. Step through the formula with the Evaluate formula tool, so you can see where things go wrong. If you need help from this forum, you must provide more details than that the formula breaks.
