    Default formating

I have a fairly developed forecasting model in Excel. Somehow the default format got changed to date format. Anytime I insert a new tab, pull new columns into a pivot table it defaults to a date format. Any idea how change the default to a numeric setting instead of date format? Thanks.

Hey Hawk and welcome to the forum,

When you want text instead of numbers, type a single quote followed by your numbers. This will then treat those numbers as text.
