    VLOOKUP for date ranges

    Is it possible to use VLOOKUP to get data for a range of (dynamic) dates? I have a sheet with hundreds of rows of data covering a certain date to today (Aug 24).

    For example I might have something like this (attached), these are all just dummy data:

    I'm trying to do things like "get the average value of option 1 for Aug 10 to Aug 24" or dynamic dates like "get the total value of option 2 for last 2 weeks", and other sorts of time ranges. What I'm doing is generating a report for multiple date ranges, eg "last week", "last month", "last 3 months", "this month last year", etc. I don't want to end up generating many reports each one only covering 1 time range, I want to generate just 1 comprehensive report covering a full year of data, 1 row for each day, then look up data automatically.

    The row numbers corresponding to dates are not fixed, so obviously I can't simply use A2:A5 for June1-4 2016.

    Thanks.

    Re: VLOOKUP for date ranges

    Hi,

    Not with Vlookup()

    Can I suggest you use a Pivot Table - see attached where as an example I've used the date filter to select the last week - of course you can select any range of dates you want.

    Check the attached file.............as long as you input 'From' and 'To' dates........... you will get the data for as many days selected.

    Hope this works for you.
