Data validation with table references - double indirect reference?

Hi - I am trying to have a dynamic data validation list. For example, I have a table in A1:B9 that shows Names in column A and Favorite Color in Column B. When someone selects a Color value in a separate cell, I want the cell next to it to have a list of only those names with that favorite color. I know I can use an indirect to reference the table, but I almost need a double indirect to reference the table and "filter" the choices.

I suppose you are looking for a depending drop down list.

if the color is red then choose in the items in another list (which all depend on red).

If so, the links are usefull.

If not, explain better, also for other forummembers.

Imagine if the data validation is within a table, and there are multiple rows. I want the data validation for each cell in that table to be based off of the cell next to it. So in this example, imagine a 2 row table, where one row is Red and the other is Blue, and I want the data validation next to each to show the names with that favorite color. But realize in actuality my table is hundreds of rows
