formula to read a sheet structured as a 12 month calendar

    Good morning everyone.

I have a question for you all. I have two calendar sheets structured very differently.

Sheet 1 - detail view: 12 separate months of the year
Sheet 2 - presentation view: Automated monthly view, e.g. if I select January that should read from the January in sheet 1.

    Cant quite get it right!

    Re: Index Match

    Impressive!

I assume from looking at Sheet1 that January wont necessarily always be in B7. Is it intended to be flexible?

Do you want a formula solution, or will a macro be acceptable?

I see the yellow cell is not a formula, but there is a formula everywhere else. Will formulas be overtyped?

    Regards,

    David

BTW: "Index/Match" is a poor title, you may get pulled up on this. The title really needs to be more descriptive.

Please take a moment to read the forum rules and then amend your thread title to something descriptive of your problem - not what you think the answer might be. (think google search terms?). Once you have done this please send me a PM and I will remove this request. (Also, include a link to your thread - copy from the address bar)

Many members search our previous posts, and thread titles play a big part of the search. I doubt anybody would do a search based on your title?

To change a Title on your post, click EDIT POST then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

(note: this change is not optional )

    Re: Index Match

    Hi David,

Yes the formula's can be overtyped. The yellow is just an example of where the formula has been overtyped.

The Month will always be in B7 as I cant seem to make the formulas work with B8 as this is formatted as a date!

Yes I would accept a macro (although I am very much beginner level with macros at the moment and can't seem to find the time to dedicate to upping my skills!).

Thank-you for your response David it is very much appreciated, my apologies for the delayed response something personal got in the way last week.

(Yep did get pulled up on the title but I think I have sorted that out)

Thank-you for this feedback and I will ensure I will put more thought into the titles from now on.
