    cells have a triangle on left corner of cell why this seems to change formula in cell next

    I added a new column and now there is a triangle in the left top corner of each cell where I want to place a number in it. Why is it there

    That indicates an error flagged by the error checking options. Are the cells formatted as Text for example?
