Linking drop down list index between cells.

    Hi,

I have a series of drop down lists on the same row in by excel spreadsheet. When an item is selected from one of the drop down lists (For example the second item in the first drop down list). I want to make all the other drop down lists on this row move to the second item in their list too. I think to do this I need to make the drop down lists dependent on one another, but after looking online I can't find a way to do this.

I am populating the drop down lists from VBA code, the items are not stored in a table within the sheet.

Thanks for your time and I would appreciate if anybody could help me with this.

    Thanks

Re: Linking drop down list index between cells.

Thanks for the reply. However I'm not sure that I can use this method for my spreadsheet. The examples on the site show the values in a drop down list changing depending on the choice in the first drop down list. I don't want the values to change, instead I want the selection to change to the same index as the selected item in the first drop down list.

    Example 1.png
    Example 2.png
    Example 3.png

I have attached images of what I'm trying to do. Each column (Ref Number, Customer, Description, Hours) will have its own drop down list containing its items. Correct me if I can use the same method for my spreadsheet. Thanks again for your time.

In summary, the values inside the drop down lists for each column are already set. I just need to make a link so that each drop down list selects the same item number when a value is changed.

not all members can read PNG.

You get better result on your question if you add a small excel file, without confidential information.

Please also add the expected results manualy in your file.
