    Copying and moving bug?

When I try to move or copy any cell Win 10 spins its wheel for a couple of seconds and I then get the message:

"We couldn't free up space on the clipboard. Another program might be using it right now"

I close the message and the action proceeds corectly.

After an hour or so of googling I've still found no solution that works for me. Is there a truly reliable fix to this exasperating bug please? Or at least of isolating the so-called conflicting program, without unreasonable uninstalling?

Although I never encountered it in Excel 2000, it seems to have persisted unfixed by Microsoft for years in more recent versions.

    How large is the file?
I get that from times when a worksheet is corrupted or absurdly large.

I would check the UESED RANGE on all of the sheets to see if any are much larger than needed.
I would also recommend counting how many volatile formulas you are using.

    Re: Copying and moving bug?

Thanks. I'll check that but oddly (and happily) this morning so far it's not happening. Nor was it universal before, occurring only in that one spreadsheet (workbook? - see my post 'Spreadsheet or Worbook'). It wasn't particularly complex IMO.

I came to the PC this morning after it occurred to me that the cause might be that the cells in question contained hyperlinks, or - even narrower - links to files that were in my Dropbox folder. But, as mentioned, the issue is currently not reproducible.
