I have got a block of cells with no grid lines. They do not come up as merged cells. I cannot get the grid lines to re-appear. How to get the grid lines back please ?

Have you set the interior colour of the cells to white? Or any other colour? If you have, you'll need to clear it or use borders instead.

No, they don't seem to be anything different from the neignouring cells and background color = no color
I experience this occasionally when I copy/paste from a website.
Maybe this...
Select the range of cells in question
Goto the Home tab>Editing Group
Click the Eraser drop down>Clear Formats

I guess that just looking at the cells wasn't enough. Sometimes, if you select a group of cells to check, you get the information relating to one specific cell, not necessarily the one whose format you want to check. No, they don't seem to be anything different from the neignouring cells and background color = no color
Glad that Tony could offer a solution.
I don't have to go through the tabs/menus.
I put the Clear Formats button on my QAT/toolbar so it's just a quick click of a button.
