Retaining a manual entry in an index table

I've got an indexing table for my business contacts that returns specific columns from a larger table on another sheet based on a drop-down list filter and running into an issue. Say I've filtered to see my contacts in the manufacturing industry and I know that Client A has an issue I need to follow up on, so in my "notes column" I enter "follow up on x". But then when I change the filter, the note doesn't stay connected to that specific client - it just stays in the same row.

I get why it happens, because it's not referenced and rather is a manual entry - but is there a way to make it so that the entry stays associated with that particular entry? I'm not even sure where I could start with this one.

If you mean that it stays in teh same row as the client, then it is still "associated" with that client?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Edit: I realize I never even bothered to upload the example that I created.

I just want to type something in the "Comments" column, and it stay with the right person when I change filters. All it does now is stay in the box it's entered into since it's a manual entry in a dynamic table.
