View Excel Cells Through a .JPEG

    Hello All,
This may be a question for the artistic types but I thought I would start here. I'm trying to consecutively number windows in a railroad passenger car from 1 to 128 and want to do so with the car .jpeg on top of the spreadsheet. Can this be done? See the attached for an example...
    Thanks in advance,

If you want a picture of a railroad car at the top of the sheet: Select A1 go to Insert, 'Picture, browse your PC for the pic and press 'Enter.

If you want to place the car numbers on top of the pic then go back to Insert, select 'Text Box and draw the box over the windows then add
    your #'s.

If you want to be more "Artsy" then I would suggest using an external program to edit the picture 1st because you can not see cells underneath the picture.

You will need to manipulate the image first. Copy the image to paint and fill the windows you want to see through with a colour not used in the rest of the image.
Copy the image back into Excel and use the Set Transparency button, Picture Tools > Adjust > Color > Set transparent color, to make that colour transparent. Then align cells to appear in windows.

In the example I coloured a few windows red and then made them clear. Both images are included.
