Weird number format (digits grouped in pairs)

Excel groups digits in pairs not by groups of three. Example 23 45 67,89 not 234 567,89
Changing anything in "format cells" doesn't help. The type chosen there is correct and should give grouping by three digits.

Could anyone please help to solve this issue?

    Try

Right click on cell or press control+1, you'll get a window named format cell->> go to number tab->> choose custom ->>>put below the try ## ## ## ,## this and then ok.

    Perhaps this would help you.

Re: Weird number format (digits grouped in pairs)

Are there any macros attached producing the unwanted format?
What does this produce ISTEXT(A1) where A1 is your cell? It should be FALSE.

When you say the format there is correct, what does that mean? What exactly is the format?

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.
