Sorting

Sir, the attached file shows the result of sports events conducted in our school.
i want to sort the result of each individual student and their winning items in a row.....
please help.....

Hi

When I first read your post I had assumed you were talking about a Sort as understood by Excel. i.e. a simple sort by either rows or columns. Your data does not lend itself to an easy solution which would probably need a macro.

However if you are prepared to accept a slightly different layout then a Pivot Table is the obvious choice. It takes only seconds to make whereas a macro or some sort of series of complex formulae might take an hour or more.
