Unhappy Formula result will only display as 0 (zero)

    Hello dear experts,

I need help with an Excel problem... Every formula I write it results 0. No matter how simple it is.
    I put a 1 in [B5] and a 2 in [C5]. I wrote "=B5+C5" in cell [D5]. The result is 0. It is not a formatting issue (i've tried general and number formatting - result was 0 or 0.00)
If I enter the cell D5 and evaluate the formula (F9) it does calculate and result the correct answer..
    Calculation is set to Automatic.
It is a office excel 2003 on a terminal server and the problem appeared only at this user.
The file used to work just fine unitl today.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks a bunch!
.. and don't forget to have fun!
    Bogdan.

    Please upload a sample file.???

If you have any compiled sheet, means many sheets figures compilation in one sheet then it is possibility one of those sheet have that compiled formula mentioned. Once It happened with me.

    Please upload the file.

You can go to Office Button, click Excel Options, select Formulas and then check Enable iterative calculation.

    What does this produce?
    in some blank cells put
    =ISNUMBER(B5)
    =ISNUMBER(C5)

They should both say TRUE for your addition to work.

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

That same file works well on another user (shared environment) so uploading was not helpfull.

I haven't tried your solution, the problem disappeared after a log-off and log-on.

Thank all of you very much.
