accessing sheets from a single cell in matster sheet

Hi All

I have 300+ worksheets each is called numerical number between 1 and 9999 like 0009.xls etc.

I want to be able to put a number in cell a1 of the master sheet and the system to retrieve the worksheet
with that number so I can edit it. when the edited sheet is closed I need to return back to a1 cell in the master
sheet ready for the next enquiry/search.

all the files are in a single directory with no other files and the directory is called g:\nfl\0009.xls (example)

I would appreciate any help anyone could give me with this.

here is the macro you need to put into the Sheet1 section.

See the attached workbook for a working sample.
Enter the workbook name with the extension like .xls in cell A1 of the master workbook and hit the enter key.
The macro will automatically open your desired workbook.
When you are done, save and close your workbook and Excel will return to the Master one.
