I have a huge .xlsx 2007 file, today at opening I've got an error - This file is not in a recognizable format. I applied open and repair, but it didn't assist me. I search recovery excel feature, if someone can assist, please...

Welcome to the forum.

I suggest that you change the title of your thread to something like "Excel file is not in a recognizable format error" or something more descriptive as all problems here could be classified as an excel file problem.

Having said that, I suggest that you find the file in question in Windows File Explorer and right click on the file. A menu will appear and one of the choices should read something like "Restore Previous Versions." Click on that and you may be presented with a list of previous versions of the file. If you get such a list, double click on the one with the latest date to open it. If this opens, it will be the last version of the file without whatever corruption is causing the latest file not to open.

Probably it's a corrupt ZIP file because last time it was saved something went wrong and the save process aborted.

You can verify this by renaming this .XLSX file as a .ZIP file and then try to unzip its contents.

If you get an error message, indeed the ZIP file is corrupt and you may recover all or parts of the contents by using a ZIP recovery tool.

If you don't get an error message, that is good news for you, because it means the underlying file format is OK, and at worst you should lose marginal content. Of course to recover from this, it is a manual process. Perhaps you can use OpenOffice try to open it if you are lucky, or send it to me personally for further inspection.

Did you locate the file in File Explorer and Right click on it and choose Previous Versions? If you did, if you received a listing of files, choose the latest version before the problems began and open it and save with a new name. If you didn't get a list of previous versions, do you have a backup plan where you work...if you don't have one the company certainly should implement one ASAP. If there is a backup plan in operation the latest versions of the file should be able to be retrieved for you.
