Sorting and Summation of Free Form Entries

The table I made previously calculates the time it takes to do a task from a Start and Stop time. The next column allows the user to select the type of task it was so that it can be reported appropriately on their time card. I made a column after that for a more specific definition of what type of task it was. These descriptions will be one to three words.

I would like to make a separate table that sorts the tasks by type and then adds all of the tasks with the same Free Form description.

Ex:
Start Stop Type Duration Free Form Description
8:00 9:42 Training 1:42 One on One
13:48 14:43 Training 0:55 CBL
14:43 16:00 Research 1:17 Cost Analysis
16:00 17:00 Training 1:00 CBL

Type Duration Free Form Description
Research 1:17 Cost Analysis

I don't use pivot tables all that often, but they're a good fit for what you're trying to do. I went with "Type" and "Description" as the row labels and "Sum of Duration" as the values. There may be a better arrangement, but this seems to get the results you're after. See the attachment for further clarity.
