Refrencing a cell in an inserted sheet

I have a workbook with multiple worksheets. On Sheet2 I have cells that are = to cells on sheet 1.

When I begin there is no Sheet1. I insert a Template as a new sheet with the name Sheet1. I get a #NAME? error in the cell. The sheet name and the reference match, what am I doing wrong?

Try =Indirect("Sheet1!C3")
Will probably error until there is a sheet 1

This is a guess

This formula will always reference C3 on sheet 1 no matter what. The only thing to note is that it is volatile and so it recalculates every time anything calculates anywhere in the application.

=iNDIRECT("Sheet1!C3")
