How to pull names from cell with multiple names.

I have a major event coming up for my organization where we are getting a couple hundred people together. Each person has an individual itinerary and so I would like to make everyone a post card that outlines their day and their meetings.

Here is a sample of the Data (Contact Info Changed to fake info)

District Meeting With Room # Office Phone Meeting Time Attendees

    1 Rep J 10 867*5309 1:00 Jim, Cathy, Bill
    2 Sen B 12 18775211 2:00 Jim, Jannet
    3 Sen A 9 123456789 12:00 Cathy, Jannet

What I want to do is find a way to make Jim, Jannet, Cathy, and Bill each their own postcard with Meeting times and locations. Since the attendees for each meeting are all listed in the same cell I am not sure how best to do this. Typing these would take a lot of time and this cannot be done until the last minute as data will change up until the morning of the event.

My excel ability is that I can do almost anything with it as long as I have a detailed set of instructions.

    Welcome to the forum

Often, a copy/paste doesnt quite come out as intended

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

Re: How to pull names from cell with multiple names.

    Hi josephj,

If I understand correctly all you want to do is remove multiple names from one cell and have each name in separate cell right?
If yes I suggest you to move column with a names to last column of your table and than go to Data -> Text to columns
In Text to columns wizard click on Delimited -> next -> Delimiter Comma (if it is separated with comma as in your attached file) -> next -> choose Text as data format and finish

If you are not familiar with "Text To Column" wizard here is short example of how to use it (you will have different steps those described above):

    Hope this helps
    Have a fantastic day
