    Help with making excel forumla(s)

    Hello there!

I have no idea if this is even possible with excel but here it goes:

I'm trying to make it so when you enter a products measurements it will tell you give the product name and manufacturer. (with multiple suggestions if possible)

E.g i type in 420x420 i want it to come up with who produces a product that size and the name of the product.

    Here's a picture of what i mean:

    Any help is greatly appriciated

A picture is not much use - you should attach a sample Excel workbook instead, and you can attach directly to one of your posts here on the forum rather than using a 3rd party site.

To do this, click on Go Advanced (below the Edit Window) while you are composing a reply, then scroll down to and click on Manage Attachments and the Upload window will open. Click on Browse and navigate to (and double-click) the file icon that you want to attach, then click on Upload and then on Close this Window to return to the Edit window. When you have finished composing your post, click on Submit Post.

You also need to explain what you want to happen if the formula cannot find an exact match of the size that you enter.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

That workbook was just an example, it was empty except for that part which i showed.

If the formula cannot find an exact match it should show the closest match.

    Thanks!

Some contributors are reluctant, or may even not be allowed due to company firewalls etc., to download files from file-hosting sites. Even if they are able to download your file, they can't do anything with a picture to try out different formulae, so they will have to manually type your example data into an Excel sheet before being able to test out different approaches. Some are unwilling to spend the time doing this, especially as you already have an Excel file.

So, I ask you again - please attach a sample Excel workbook to one of your posts, using the method described above, and then you are likely to generate more interest in your problem.
