    Auto-increment dates in separated cells.

What I'm trying to do is make a basic budgeting spreadsheet and the actual budgeting part works fine. All I want to do now is be able to type in a date at the top and then the rest that follow automatically increment the date. Sounds simple, it probably is, but so far I can't get it to work.

I've tried putting the date in the first one in the format of:
    26/04/2017

and then in the next section put
    (example) =B1+1.

because according to the in-excel help, that should work, but it comes up with:
01/01/1900 (Sunday, 1 January 1900; because of the formatting I've chosen).

I know of using the =DATE or the =DATEVALUE formulas, I just don't know how.
Just hoping somebody can help me with this.

Did you format those other cells as the date format you desired ?

Right click cell, FORMAT CELLS , DATE and then select the preferred format from the small window on the right.

The formatting is all the same. It still shows up with this:

Ok .. I tried to recreate what you have based on the images you provided.

It would appear the error is using =B1+1

Because the cells are merged and centered, the formula should actually be =A1+1

Then for the next merged cells it would be =A1+2, etc. etc.
