    copying conditional formatting rules

    Hi all,

I have a problem where I have created two condition rules in one cell (N2) based another cell (M2) but when I copy the rule down (N2:35) it keeps the same reference cell (M2) is there any way I can have it so it just looks at the previous cell. eg N3 reference M3

    hi
does your formula have a $ in it, eg $M$2? If so, remove it and try copying again as eg M2

    Thanks for your response,

it seems to still be looking at the original reference cell

NickyC is correct. Based on your picture, you have M12 as an absolute reference with the $ ($M$12)symbols in it. Remove the dollar symbols and it should copy correctly for you.

jme1013, yes he was correct it was me rather than copying each time I was dragging the cell down which then didn't work.

Glad you got it resolved. You responded while I was replying, didn't mean to reply after you had marked it solved.
