Picture Hyperlinks Won't Open up Proper Program

I recently got a new computer (the old and the new ones both had Win7 and Excel 2013).

On the old one, with any conditional hyperlinks I had, when i clicked them, the JPEG pictures opened up via Windows Photo Viewer. I loved it!
Now though (with the new computer), they open up via Internet Explorer.

I right clicked ANY picture on my computer, right clicked it, selected Open With, Choose default program, and in the pop up, populated the box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file".

When I go back to my excel hyperlinks, it still opens up Internet Explorer.
What am I doing wrong here?

I took a look at it, and it looks like I'm doing everything right, but nothing happens.

I went to "Set Associations" under Default Program in the Control Panel. I looked for jpg and jpeg, and they do have the right program... Windows Photo Viewer, but Internet Explorer still opens up when I click on the conditional hyperlink inside a cell in Excel.

Did you actually go to the link? Where in the document does it say "Set Associations"?

The issue isn't with file association. But how IE is set to host certain documents instead of using appropriate applications.

Just download the fix file and run it and test. If that doesn't fix, check Registry Key.

You are correct with what my issue is.

I downloaded the fix (for win7), and ran/installed it. Then i clicked on the excel jpeg hyperlink again. IE opens up.
I ran the fix again, closed excel, opened it up, cliked the hyperlink... same issue.
I closed excel, ran the fix, RESTARTED, opened up excel, the links still open IE.

The first result was the one that did it.
A registry hack did it! I'll mark my problem as solved.
