I want to create a "select" button that I can click on/off with functions

I am currently using a tick box to create a function but this is a little slow to format and set up. Is there a way I can create a button, that fills a cell, that says "select" on it for example, that I can they use to create a set of rules or functions? The function that i currently need to achieve would be to unhide a selection of rows/cells when selected. In affect, like a drop down so i could show further options. Thank you
