Excel appears to give incorrect result?

    Hi Guys

Could someone please take a look at my sample file....the highlighted cells are giving an incorrect value?
The cells it's getting data from does have a formula but...I would have thought the result should be the value of the cell?

The attachment button is not working?

Sample file is also on another board

    In F2, H2, I2, K2 & L2 you do not need the SUM

=SUM(E2/D2) =E2/D2 is fine. You had it set to show 2 dps. the actual value was 1.34641791044776. So when in F4, you used 1.35 you will clearly get a different answer.

    For future reference:

Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)? Please don't attach a picture of one (no-one will want to re-type all your stuff before starting).

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Re: Excel appears to give incorrect result?

    Thanks Glenn

    I have now used =ROUND(E2/D2,2)
I see the logic now...the formula is providing the actual answer I want (rounded) ie even when I change the cell format to general the value stays the same...

Without formula...even when set to decimal.2 (is just for visual display/ now I realise) the data behind it is still multi decimal.

Thank you for the formula correction
