Embedding PDF as Hyperlink

Hello,

I am wanting to know if it is possible to embed a PDF file as a hyperlink. I want to be able to click the link and the PDF appear, without it pulling from a file on my drive - as this will be sent out to people who do not have access. I know there is a way to embed a PDF directly into excel and i know there is a way to hyperlink, but i am not having much luck on mixing the two.

Insert tab --> Text group --> click on Object. select Adobe PDF document. Make sure to check the box Display as Icon.

This does not link the PDF to the text within the cell, as a hyperlink would do.

Your best option would be to create some code which activates an icon as described above. You could format the text to appear the same as a hyperlink but have it trigger the opening of the document. I'm not aware of a non VBA solution if it absolutely has to be a text link.
