Using the Same Workbook From 3 PCs

    Hello all,

Does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to enter or edit data on the same macro enabled workbook from different locations?

I have tried using OneDrive and Google Drive but when opening it gets errors probably because of the macros. Or maybe I am doing it wrong.

Thanks for any help or suggestions,
    Joe

In most instances, instead of everyone writing to same workbook. I'd recommend giving them data entry workbook for each pc.

Then use data connection, PowerQuery or other methods to bring in data from all sheets into master.

Another route is to use google form as data entry into Google sheet. And connect it to Excel.

Or just use Database (like Access, MS SQL etc), which will be more robust and meant for multiple user input.

I haven't used this but understand that Microsoft OneDrive (online version of Excel) has the capabilities that you are seeking
    without causing conflicts between users.

From personal experience I learned that Excel is not designed to be accessed by more than one person at a time if it is deployed on a local network.
The OneDrive online version eliminates those issues.

Really all I want to do is one user at a time which will be me and access it from multiple locations.

Then ... you won't need OneDrive. You can proceed by placing it on your local network.

I have 2 PCs at home on the same network and one PC at work on a different network.

Set up VPN tunnel to connect to network from outside.

If that's not an option... use one of the methods outlined above.

Re: Using the Same Workbook From 3 PCs

I found the errors. I was using mid cell to get the worksheet name. Some formulas were based on that cell and when in OneDrive it showed errors. I changed the cells to January, February, March, etc. so the references for formulas based on the months is working now online.

    Weird how stuff just happens!

I will continue to try Onedrive at home and work to see if the workbook updates new info.

    Thanks guys for the help.
