Excel Template Question (Auto transferring data from title sheet during inserting.)

Hello, I work for a testing firm and am having an issue with Excel. For the past 20 year the guys in the office have been inputting field data into some very old and poorly thought out excel sheets. Currently I am trying to update these sheets to be simplified for Field Technicians with very little computer skills to be able to fill out whole report.

My goal is to have a master workbook that would be the start of the job containing Title Sheet, Certification Sheet, and Table of Contents. The other 30 different types of testing sheets/forms I was going to create into templates that could be inserted as needed to complete the report.

The templates will be macro enable to do certain things when pushing a button(changing sheet to Test Survey/Final Testing Setup and adding extra page within tabs as needed), but one issue I am having is that I cant get the template to Auto fill the Project Title and other job information from the title sheet. I dont want the technicians doing this stuff because some reason they type the title different on every sheet.

    Example

    Title Sheet(Tab) Name is: Window
    Title is on Cell: E16

I try to just use =Window!E16 in the template and save the template.

When I insert the template into the workbook it gives me the #REF. I can click the cell and the hit "enter" and it will update the cell to show the proper title.

Any ideas on how I would be able to achieve this?

Re: Excel Template Question (Auto transferring data from title sheet during inserting.)

Reason for doing this was to not have 35 hidden sheets inside the workbook. Some jobs we use only 1 or 2 main sheet layouts.

Im guessing easiest way to go is just hide all sheets into one workbook and use a macro (button for tech) to make a copy of the hidden sheet inside the workbook for the tech to use.
