I have a number of tax files that I create every year from previous files. I have never protected them. Suddenly I cannot open my 2017 file. I get this "cannot open a protected file" error.
I have read a number of suggestions online about unprotecting protected files and most assume you can open the file and do something to it. My file just does not open. I need a better can opener.
Unfortunately, based on the content of the question which boils down to "How to open a protected file without the passwords", any questions relating to circumventing Excel securities, even ones that are accidental/unintentional as seems to be your situation, we do not allow such questions/answers on our forum.
