    Mark highest value?

Is it possible to mark highest value (numbers in this case) with bold. Like a match where a player wins 4 and the other a 3, can I make Excel automatically mark 4 because it's bigger than 3 with bold?

You could use conditional formatting to do this.

If you select the relevant cells then go to "Home / Conditional Formatting / New Rule" you should see an option for "Format only top or bottom ranked values".

Set it to "Top" and "1" then apply the bold formatting and you're done.

Thanks for the reply But I want it only to mark the highest value, I followed your tutorial and it marked both the lowest and highest (values are 4 and 6).

    Re: Mark highest value?

I can think of two possible issues.
    1) You didn't set the "Top" value to 1. If it's set to 4 it will highlight the top 4 values, if it's set to 1 it will only highlight the top 1.
    2) Your values are stored as text rather than numbers.

Check both of those things and report back.

    Re: Mark highest value?

Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)? Please don't attach a picture of one (no-one will want to re-type all your stuff before starting).

    1. Make sure that your sample data are truly REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
